The Technion, in honor of Prof. Andrew Viterbi and his late wife, Erna, changed the Faculty’s name to “The Andrew and Erna Viterbi Faculty of Electrical Engineering”. Prof. Viterbi honored us by visiting our lab where he was introduced to our technological achievements by Tanya Chernyakova and Regev Cohen. The lab was also reviewed by journalists from Kol Israel. The US system was demonstrated with the assistance of Dr. Shai Tejman-Yarden, a Cardiologist from Sheba hospital.

SAMPL 2015 Chanuka party took place in the lab with the students, wine and a lot of great donuts.

SAMPL workshop 2015 took place at the Technion, under Prof. Yonina Eldar’s supervision. The event included Lectures and Demos on sub-Nyquist sampling and super-resolution in Signal Processing and Physics. The Workshop attracted many participants and the demos all operated successfully – all participants celebrated in an after party event.

SAMPL Lab Vision Day took place in Zichron Yaacov and was dedicated to brainstorming on SAMPL lab activities. Issues like joint goals, methods to reach these goals, responsibilities, atmosphere, working ethics, demos, exposing lab activities etc. were discussed. The lab also participated in building a Group Mission Statement .

Open day for labs takes place at the Technion in which each lab presents new projects for the coming year. During this day, SAMPL lab presented innovative developments in the area of Sub-Nyquist sampling and signal processing.


June 23, 2014
Yehoraz Kasher prize is awarded annually for outstanding projects carried out in the specialized laboratories of Faculty of Electrical Engineering. This year, Shahar Tsiper and Etgar Israeli, under Debora Cohen supervision, won the second place with their project: The Sub-Nyquist Cognitive Radio.
